Write about 5 blessings in your life
I am not finished with this list... I'll have to think of more blessings. If I could choose a different name, I would choose...If I could choose a different name, I would probably choose Valerie. A cool nickname would be Val, but then everybody would ask if my name is short for Valentina or Valentine... and that sounds like something I would get annoyed of REALLY quickly.
If I could choose a "hipster" name I would choose "Hydrangea" after my favorite flower, but that's really hard to spell. Not to mention Hydrangea Manuel is a big mouthful. Now I would know how Hermione Granger from Harry Potter feels like. Post some words of wisdom that speak to youA quote that really speaks to me is "First Attempts In Learning" spell FAIL. Its true! Nowadays, everyone is so obsessed with getting good grades that they can't stand the thought of failure. Unfortunately, we all need to learn how to fail. And IF we do fail, it should be EPIC. We need to fail on a scale that we know what NOT to do when the time comes.
Getting good grades IS important, passing classes IS important. I am just saying we need to understand that in order to learn things well, we need to fail. The important thing is to learn from our mistakes, so we don't make those mistakes again. Write about something in your life that is awesome (or kicking butt) right nowThis is hard. I wish I could say playing on the Nintendo Switch is kicking butt right now... but it really IS kicking my butt. Seriously. I played Mario Kart 8 with my sister and I realized I was REALLY good, but that was because I had auto steer and auto accelerate. When I took it off... let's say I consistently came in last place. As in DEAD LAST. ALL. THE. TIME.
I'll have to think about this... and I'll come back to this Writing Challenge entry. Share something you're struggling withSomething I am STILL struggling with is time management. Yes students, even teachers tend to fall behind with their homework. Except our homework load is WAAY harder and WAAY more intense, because we have to plan your lessons, mark your unit tests (I swear I'm working on those Math Unit Tests), and make sure the lessons I teach you are attention-grabbing and unforgettable. I wish I could tell you there is a quick magic cure-all potion for time management, but alas there isn't one. Having excellent time management skills comes down to having the discipline of knowing when to stop your recreation time (whether that's reading or playing on the Switch...) and start your work. Its all about having the discipline and changing your routine to make sure your work gets done.
List 5 places I want to visit
Write about one person who inspires you I wouldn't say that one person inspires me, but a group: Children inspire me. I walk into my classroom everyday and see bright and eager faces; faces that are ready to learn and make my day (whether its good or bad). You kids inspire me to become a better teacher, you kids are the reason I do all my crazy shenanigans in the class. You are the reason why I act silly or out of the ordinary, anything to make your time in my class a memorable, and inspiring one.
What three lessons do you want future children to learn from you?
Write something someone told you about yourself you never forgotWhen I was younger, I HATED my curly hair. I hated it with a passion, that all I wanted was to get my hair chemically straightened so I wouldn't have to deal with SUPER curly and SUPER messy hair that got tangled at any moment's notice. Just when I made up my mind to get my hair straightened, I spoke with my grandmother who heard from my mom that I hated my curly hair. She sat me down and she told me something I have never forgotten:
Be grateful of what God has given you. So many other people pay a lot of money to get their hair curled, and none of it looks as beautiful as yours. Be happy with what you have. Like the rebellious, angst-ridden teenager I was, I ignored her. But a few years later, I got the news that she passed away, and that was the last conversation we ever had together. Since then, I have learned to embrace my curly hair, and I have learned to shrug off all the insults, jokes, and unnecessary comments about my curly hair; because I know, deep down somewhere, they want curly hair as fun and as bouncy as mine. |
