My Favorite SeasonI love the Fall season because it is the most visually pleasing season of the year. While there are many beautiful and wonderful activities to do in the summer and winter, the way each green leaf changes into a bright orange, or to a deep red, almost purple colour is just absolutely beautiful. The way the leaves fall down gracefully into a big pile, just waiting for eager kids to crunch and stomp down is amazing. There is a certain crispness and freshness in the cool air; very similar to biting into a cold, crisp ambrosia apple. The cool, brisk air is a sign for me to put away the summer clothes and its time for me bring out my plaid shirts, thick scarves, touques, jackets, and my second-favorite article of clothing: hoodies!
Another favorite thing about the Fall season is the food! Fall is Turkey Dinner season! I cannot get enough of Turkey Dinner; the way you can smoosh turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, assorted veggies on your plate is beyond words. I think the whole pumpkin spice craze is too over-hyped, but it is still part of the season of fall, so I like it as well. But my favorite thing about the season is when you are walking in the cold air, the sun on your face, the coloured leaves, falling around you, all snoodled up in your scarf, sipping your hot chocolate (or coffee), and a cold gust of wind blows into you; that just says, "Ahhhh, Fall, the most refreshing season of them all!"

Today's Writing Challenge is: My Summer VacationHere's my sample: The best part of my summer vacation was in July, when I hopped onto a plane and made my way to visit my best friend in Ottawa, Ontario. We planned to hang out and have summer adventures for one whole week! I had never been that far east before, and I was very excited. So excited that I woke up super early and got to the airport 4 hours before my flight took off. The flight was not very long, and after 5 hours I was able to see my best friend. She was so happy to see me, I think she had a hard time moving away from BC and settling into Ontario. One Sunday, my friend asked me if I wanted to take a day trip to Montreal. She told me it wasn't too far, just a 2-hour drive. I said "yes" right away. I couldn't pass up a summer road trip! We got into her little red car and took a drive to Montreal. We passed by a little town that was known as the "French fry capital of Canada." As a person who loves french fries, I was very sad we didn't stop by. I guess I'll have to go back to that place one day. Once we crossed the provincial border into Quebec, my mind into French overdrive! Quebec has all of their signs in French, (and if you're lucky you might see some English signs) and I could feel my mind use up every single French word I knew in my mind.
way in Montreal. The ride home was pretty scary, because it was very late at night, and there weren't many cars on the highway. But we made it home safe. A few days after our Montreal adventure, We took a bus trip to Toronto to visit our friend and her family. That was cool! We watched a Blue Jays Game and it was right underneath the CN Tower! You could even see some people walk around the edge of the CN Tower! That is something I want to do the next time I go visit Toronto. Maybe my friends would like to try that our with me... The bad thing about the Toronto trip was when my friends made me wear a Maple Leafs jersey. They are big Toronto Maple Leafs fans and they made me wear the jersey! How could they?! They used to be Canucks fans, and they stopped cheering for them! Luckily, I made sure my friends knew I am still a Canucks fan. The next time I visit, I will wear my Canucks gear! Also, on our way back, we heard that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was spotted jogging one block away from us!
Did you know that the flag at the Peace Tower is 100 metres high, but the Canadian flag at Guildford is much bigger? We took pictures of the Parliament Building from both the Quebec and Ottawa sides. Ottawa is a small town compared to Vancouver, but it is close to many important cities. Ottawa is across the river from Gatineau, Quebec and many Quebecois people bike from Quebec to work in Ottawa, Canada. Ottawa is just as tourist-friendly and everyone there speaks both French and English, which makes sense because it is our capital city. The weather there is very hot and humid. It was very sunny! The clouds practically vanished and I left my sunscreen in Vancouver! After a week, it was time to say goodbye to my best friend and her family. I told them I would visit again and have more adventures next year. But I had a lot more summer adventures to have! So I hopped back on a plane back to good old Vancouver, British Columbia.
